Psychoanalysis Books for You to Gain Knowledge
The Future of an Illusion
Freud wrote "The Future of an Illusion" in 1927. It is known as the difficult interwar period from 1856 to 1939. But the edition we have is the one released by L&PM publishing house, on March 9, 2010.
This book is about Freud's uneasiness with the destinies of humanity. So that in the work he doubts the psychological origin of the need for religion in a person. Furthermore, Freud also talks about the imposition of people in this relationship.
He also talks about who has the ability to understand his destiny. Furthermore, he shows his belief that every individual is an enemy of civilization.
For Freud, faith represses the natural antisocial impulses of the human being. This justifies the attacks on religion and the idea that it would be supported by the feeling of helplessness. It would also be supported by the vulnerability of the individual.
The Psychoanalysis of Fairy Tales
Bruno Bettelheim is the author of "The Psychoanalysis of Fairy Tales". This work has been released once again as a success by Paz & Terra. This book deals with the famous children's stories, such as fairy tales, and shows their real meaning.
In this book, Bettelheim explains how common among parents is the fear of fairy tales. This is because the stories could affect and distance the child from reality. But the author says that, even full of fantasy, fairy tales talk about real world situations.
For a long time, fairy tales were despised and forbidden because of their unrealistic and dramatic characteristics. But things changed with their reinterpretation by Psychoanalysis. After all, fairy tales were once again read and understood. This was because they were seen as an attempt to talk about a world full of experiences.
Thus, Bettelheim develops this idea. He discusses the reality behind the fantasy, through a psychoanalytic perspective.
Love, Sexuality, Femininity
Written by Freud, it was translated into Portuguese by Maria Rita Salzano Moraes. Its main theme is the controversial ideas of Psychoanalysis. In the book, Freud gathers texts that talk about the hypothesis of bisexuality, the Oedipus and castration complexes, the taboo of infantile sexuality, the primacy of the phallus and the envy of the penis.
In addition, the book presents some letters written by Freud. In these letters, the author talks about the bisexuality proper to the human being, and also presents a letter-answer to an American mother worried about her son's homosexuality.
This book also has editorial notes that contextualize each text. This helps the reader to have a better understanding of the subject. In addition, it has a general historical introduction and an afterword by Maria Rita Kehl. In it, she talks about how Freud saw women.

David E. Zimerman created the work in order to synthesize the fundamental principles of the psychoanalytic method, so here are some of them:- theory;
- psychopathology and
- technique.
Handbook of Psychoanalytic Technique: A Re-Vision
David E. Zimerman wrote this work with the intention of reviewing the classic concepts of psychoanalysis, but also to present contemporary advances in analytic technique, as well as relate them to emotional and technical experiences.
Like the book "Psychoanalytic Technical Foundations - Technical Theory and Clinic", Zimermam explains these concepts of Psychoanalytic technique in a clear way. Thus, it helps the reader to better understand the work overall.
Vocabulary of Psychoanalysis
In this book, Jean-Bertrand Pontalis and Jean Laplanche have intentionally analyzed the national apparatus of Psychoanalysis. That is, to explain the existing and elaborated concepts in this area. This is because they want to translate their approaches.
Because, with time, Psychoanalysis improved its understanding of most psychological and psychopathological phenomena, it was then necessary to have an "alphabetical manual". In such a manual would be gathered all the psychoanalytical contributions.
It would then deal with issues about the libido, but also about love and dreaming. Whether the dream was delinquency or surrealism.
